Her truss rod works fine and she has a 60's neck but feels kinda chunky, not really flat and wide. She has VH-1 pickups and I added pip caps. No maple cap here weighing right at 9.4lbs. Looks like Ebony but not 100% sure so I'll say rosewood just to be safe. She has very little fret wear on her dark rosewood fingerboard. This late 80's early 90's RLC is in great shape. Bid with confidence! Vintage 1983/4 Burny. I'd dearly love one of those - if (as is highly unlikely, curses!) - they did 'em left handed. We have sold many high end Japanese guitars We describe accurately. Burny did (maybe still do?) at some point between 19 a Steve Jones signature model, which was a spot-on visual recreation of the Never Mind The Bollocks Les Paul, and by all accounts were stunning guitars. Unbeatable clear, ballsy rock sound - obviously nothing like the same construction, but it sounds like my ears tell me a GREAT SG should.Īfter the Sex Pistols reformed (I got into LPs because of Steve Jones - what other reason is there? I mean, really?), Steve jones became disenchanted with the attitude Gibson apparently had to him, given how many white Les Pauls have probably been sold cause of him, and he got rid of his Gibsons and went to Burny. Lovely to play, though the guitar is much wider at the nut than I typically prefer. Bought them on eBay for very little - I lucked out - but they're going up in value all the time. I have a Westone Thunder IA and matching Thunder IA Bass in the sought after natural finish - stunning quality.
